he Loons had tied the game by the time Mike Sirota came to the plate in the 8th yesterday. By the time his at-bat was over, they had taken the lead, then never looked back. Sirota had 2 hits on the night, which is his 11th multi-hit game. He has hits in 7 games in a row, and he's been on base in 29 games in a row. Sirota has posted an ISO that is 7 points higher than his K%, so his slug has FAR outperformed any kind of swing and miss, and he's posted a WRC+ of 182. Never say never, but it would be hard to have a more impressive start to a season than he's had. #dodgers #dodgerspropsects #mikesirota

Zyhir Hope went OPPO TACO last night for Tulsa for his team's leading 7th dinger of the year. Hope has a WORLD of power, but one of the most exciting parts of what's possible with him is the amount of power he has to the opposite field. That should allow him to see the ball deeper, and as he continues to grow, swing decisions should improve, as well as processing where to turn the barrel. That, again, should, in time, remedy the swing-and-miss tendencies in his game. He's sitting at a 25.3% K rate, and that's 8 points higher than his ISO, so, so far, the swing and miss is winning, despite being the team leader on long balls. He tends to lift at times, no question, but everything else sets up to improve the bat-to-ball as he goes on, so very few concerns for me. #dodgers #dodgersprospects #zyhirhope

Electric Sequence last night in Tulsa was put together by two highly rated prospects. Kendall George showed off his 80-grade speed by beating out an infield hit, then, 1 pitch later, Josue DePaula went yard to the opposite field. George was 3.76 from home to 1st, and that's despite the fact that he pulled up at the end once he realized he was safe. Not only was he safe, but it also wasn't close! He had almost touched 1st base by the time the 2nd baseman fielded the ball. That was FUN! George is having an INCREDIBLE season, and so is Depaula, although he's slowed a touch, which was to be expected, so 0 concerns about that. AA is a tough jump, and he's made it look WAY easier than just about everyone else could have. River Ryan threw on Friday, Ryder Ryan threw yesterday. Good to see Ryder back on the bump for the first time since going on the IL in mid to late April. His Line 2IP | 1H | 0R | 3Ks | 0BB As you can see, fantastic 2-inning outing for Ryan, who was slider-heavy (14), and his 4 Seam sat 94, which is exactly at his average. Noah Miller had 3 hits yesterday for AAA OKC, raising his average to .287 and his OPS to .793. Miller is hitting .319 so far in May with an OPS of .863. He has 3 multi-hit games in a row, hits in 6 straight games, and is 7-for-14 with 2 doubles, a triple, and 4 RBIs over that span. Alex Freeland had 3 hits yesterday, including 2 home runs, and he had 3 RBIs and scored 3 times. Friday, he showed up from the right side, yesterday he showed what he can do from the left side. Also, one home run was to the pull side, the other oppo. Think about the diversity in excellence in those last 2 days. Multiple hits from both sides of the plate, home runs to ALL parts of the field. REALLY good stuff from Alex Freeland, who has taken being sent back down to OKC as motivation. Freeland is hitting .421 with OKC. River Ryan was ELECTRIC last night in Albuquerque! 4 IP | 1R | 2H | 4Ks | 1BB His fastball touched 100.9 MPH, and he hit triple digits on 6 different pitches. He averaged 98.6 on the 4 seam and got 20 whiffs/called strikes on 53 pitches overall with his arsenal. He also held the velo and was STILL hitting 98 in the 4th inning. His spin rate touched 2532 on his 4 Seam as well, so, not only did he have velo, he also had a LOT of carry/ride, which means that velo was holding longer as it approached home plate. His slider averaged 92 MPH with a 50% whiff rate (3 of 6), and he generated a 75% called strike + whiff rate on his sinker (3 of 4), and his curveball reached 2790 on the spin rate as well. Ryan now has 14 Ks to just 3 walks in 11 IP this season with OKC as he works his way back. Here's every pitch of his 1st & 2nd innings. #Dodgers #dodgersprospects #riverryan
