This week had some of the best moments of the year in the Dodgers system, and we’ve got it all covered on This Week in Dodgers Baseball.
LA Dodgers
The Dodgers have gone 5-3 over the past week losing a series at home to Washington, then winning 3 of 4 from Colorado, before beating the Giants in the first game of a 4-game set against the heated rivals. LA is 69-33 on the year, which is the most wins in the National League and 2nd most in all of baseball just behind the Yankees. and are in 1st place of the NL West by 12 games over San Diego heading into Tuesday’s game with San Francisco.
Offense
Freddie Freeman continues to lead the club in batting average (.328), on-base percentage (.404), slugging % (.541), OPS (.945) doubles (36), and he’s 2nd in RBIs (68), and 3rd in home runs with 15. He’s an elite offensive player that’s having a banner year! Mookie Betts leads the team in home runs with 23, followed by Trea Turner with 17 who also leads the team in RBIs (75) and steals with 18. Max Muncy leads the Dodgers in walks (60) and Cody Bellinger leads the team in strikeouts with 106.
Pitching
Tony Gonsolin leads the team in ERA (2.41), WHIP (0.90), batting average against at .178 and wins with 12. Craig Kimbrel leads the team in saves and is 18 of 21 in save opportunities on the year and Tyler Anderson leads the team in innings thrown with 110.1. Others of note, Caleb Ferguson has yet to give up a run in 14.2 innings of work, Andrew Heaney has an ERA of 0.77 in his 23.1 innings of work, and Yency Almonte has posted an ERA of 1.19 in 30.1 innings, and Evan Phillips’s ERA is 1.58 in 40.0 innings.
Transactions:
The Dodgers traded Zach McKinstry to the Cubs for P Chris Martin who was activated on Sunday. James Outman was called up and has made a huge splash, Edwin Rios was sent on a Rehab, Andrew Heaney was activated and threw well yesterday, Mitch White was optioned on last Wednesday and Garrett Cleavinger was traded.
The Dodgers have 3 more games with the Giants this week, then host the 2nd place Padres over the weekend which promises to be a whole lot of fun.
AAA OKC Dodgers
OKC hosted the AAA affiliates of the Houston Astros this past week and went 2-4 in their home series, but are still in first place in the PCL East, 5 games ahead of El Paso. Miguel Vargas is tied for the team lead in hits (109), batting average at .291, on-base % (.395), and doubles (24). He is also 2nd in RBIs (72) slugging % (.497), walks (54) OPS (.879), and 3rd in home runs (15). Jason Martin leads the team in home runs (22), RBIs (76), Slugging % (.583), and OPS (.961). He is also 2nd in hits (90), and is 3rd in doubles (17), walks (47), and average (.287). Drew Avans is tied with Vargas for the team lead in average at .291, leads the team in steals (22), and also extended his on-base streak to 38 games. . Ryan Noda is the team leader in walks, is 2nd in stolen bases (55), and home runs (16), and is 3rd in OPS (.844),
Pitching
Carson Fulmer leads the team in ERA (1.49), he is 9 out of 10 in saves opportunities, has a WHIP of just 1.09, and a batting average against of .160. He has 50 strikeouts on the year to just 22 walks. Ryan Pepiot leads all starters in ERA (2.27), WHIP 1.05, and strikeouts (93), and he has extended to 7 innings in his last 2 starts. Marshall Kasowski has an ERA of just 2.25, an average against of just .185, and a WHIP of 1.28.
OKC is in Salt Lake this week to take on the Bees, the AAA affiliate of the Angels, in a 6 game series.

AA Tulsa Drillers
The Drillers just completed a 6 game series at home at beautiful OneOk and won 4 of the 6 against the Arkansas Travelers, the AA affiliates of the Seattle Mariners. Tulsa won the first half of the Texas League North Division, so they have already qualified for the playoffs and are in 3rd place currently in the Division with a 13-14 2nd half record. Devin Mann leads the Drillers in average (.267), on-base percentage (.384), and is 2nd in doubles (16), walks, slugging % (.469), and OPS (.853). Andy Pages leads the team in doubles (17), triples (2) walks (44), and is 3rd in on-base % (.341), slugging % (.451), and OPS (.792).
Pitching
Gavin Stone leads the way in the pitching department as he leads the team in ERA (1.40), leads all starters in WHIP (1.17) and Batting Average against of just .210, and is also 2nd in strikeouts at 89. John Rooney is 2nd in ERA as a starting pitcher. His overall ERA is 4.30, but as a starter, his ERA is just 3.00, which is 2nd best of the starters on the team. Bobby Miller leads the team in strikeouts with 95 and is 2nd on the team in average against at .210.
Jordan Leasure leads all relief pitchers in ERA (3.94), and leads the entire team in WHIP (1.13) and average against (.223). Guillermo Zuniga leads the team in saves and is 11 for 11 in save opportunities this year.
