AAA OKC Dodgers

OKC took the lead in the top of the 10 on Michael Busch’s 26th home run of the year but gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 10th to drop a tough one 8-7 to the Sugarland Space Cowboys, the AAA affiliates of the Astros.

Edwin Rios hit his 1st home run in AAA on rehab and it came off the bat 102.8 and traveled 374 very happy feet. Rios is hitting .306 with an OPS of .794 with OKC.

Here is every pitch of Blake Treinen’s performance tonight with OKC. Treinen threw 2 cutters that averaged 92.5, 5 sliders at 83-84, and 9 sinkers from 93-96.

Michael Busch had one of the best shifting beating swinging bunts I’ve seen! Makes me wonder why more guys can’t/won’t/don’t do this more often!

Busch also hit home run #26, which is 3rd best in the org. It came in the top of the 10th to give OKC the lead in extra innings, and it was hit 103.7 and traveled 377 very happy feet.

Jake Reed had another scoreless outing for OKC & has yet to give up a run in his 7 innings since joining the team. He has struck out 9 during that time and has just 3 walks. Here is every pitch of his first inning. He threw 11 sinkers at 92-93 and 4 sliders at 83-84.

AA Tulsa Drillers

The Drillers scored 1 in the top of the 1st inning, and that was the high point of the night as they gave up 6 unanswered runs and a 10 spot in the bottom of the 6th inning to lose 17-4 to the Wichita Wind Surge, the AA affiliates of the Twins.

There weren’t many bright spots last night for Tulsa, but one of them was home run #15 on the year for Brandon Lewis that traveled 418 very happy feet. Lewis has hits in 6 of his last 7 games.

Andy Pages also had a good night for the Drillers in an otherwise largely forgettable night. Pages went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Last night was his 4th multi-hit of the month and so far in August his OPS is 1.014.

High A Great Lakes

The Loons got just 3 hits and 2 runs, but it was all they need as the pitching was up to the task en route to a 2-to-1 win over the Lansing Lugnuts, the High A affiliates of the Oakland A’s.

Nick Frasso was lights out in his 2nd performance since becoming a Dodger. He went 2.2 innings, had 5 K’s, no walks, and gave up just 1 hit and 1 run. Check it out for yourself!

River Ryan was dominant as well, also in his 2nd outing since being promoted to High A Great Lakes. Ryan went 4.1, struck out 6, walked just 1, and gave up just 1 hit and 1 run. In his 2 outings since being promoted, he has 14 K’s in 8.1 innings to just 2 walks.

Congratulations to Nick Nastrini for being promoted to AA Tulsa. Nastrini is coming off his best outing of the year where he went 6 last time out, striking out 9, walking just 2, and giving up no runs.

Ryan Sublette threw up another 0 for Great Lakes in his 2/3 of an inning worked. He has gone scoreless in 13 of his last 15 outings and in the last 2 months he has 27 K’s to just 8 walks and his batting average against this month is just .133.

The Cantleberry Tales were about success last night for LHP out of Missouri, Jacob Cantleberry. Cantleberry threw the last 4 outs and got his 3rd save going scoreless and recording 2 strikeouts and no walks. His average against this month is just 0.77 and his WHIP is 0.50.

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes pounded out 15 hits and 15 runs to beat the Modesto Nuts, the Single-A affiliates of the Mariners, 15-11 Tuesday night in front of 981 fans at Loan Mart Field.

2022 Draft Pick, C Dalton Rushing had 3 hits & 3 RBIs last night for the Quakes, including his 2nd & 3rd double since joining the club. Rushing is another Louisville product and catcher just like Will Smith and is hitting .412 since becoming a Quake with an OPS of 1.239.

Yeiner Fernandez had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Quakes including his 14th double of the year. Fernandez is a 19-year-old C/utility player out of Venezuela that is hitting .314 this month with an OPS of .886. He’s hitting .291 overall for the year with an OPS of .801.

2022 Draft Pick and outfielder out of Maryland, Chris Alleyne had 2 hits and an RBI for the Quakes and has hits in his last 4 games including a home run, 4 RBIs, a triple, 4 runs scored, and 10 total bases during that stretch.

2022 Draft Pick & 3rd baseman, Nick Biddison, hit his 2nd home run & is hitting .297 since joining the Quakes with an OPS of .976. He has 3 multi-hit games in his last 4 & is 8 for his last 15 with a home run 5 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and 11 total bases during that stretch.

Right-hander, Reinaldo DePaula threw a scoreless 2 innings last night in a very high-scoring game. He has not given up a run this entire month which spans 6 outings and 9 innings. During this month he has 9 K’s and just 2 walks. Watch out for this guy!
