Dodgers Daily: Monday 8-22-21

OKC heartbreak, Trouble for Tulsa, Great Lakes goes dry and the Quakes get shook. It was a tough night down on the Farm as all 4 affiliates lost, but, as always, there were some great highlights from yesterday’s action and we’ve got it covered.

AAA OKC

Watch Duplantier turn in a Gem

Jon Duplantier turned in a Gem for OKC striking out 9 in 5 innings and blanking the Space Cowboys, the AAA affiliates of the Astros. Duplaniter was 93-94 on the 4 seam fastball and paired that with a knuckle curve at 79, a slider at 88, and a change-up at 85-86.

Watch Treinen in his Rehab outing with OKC

Here is every pitch of Blake Treinen’s rehab inning last night for OKC. He threw three 4 seam fastballs from 94-97, 8 sliders that were 83-85, and 7 sinkers that sat 94-97.

Watch Robles in Action

Hansel Robles gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in his 1 inning for OKC. He reached as high as 98 on the 4 seam, but sat 95-96 and paired that with a slider that sat 89-90, and a change-up that was 88-90.

Jake Reed threw a scoreless inning for OKC striking out 1 and giving up 1 hit. Reed was 92-93 on the sinker and 83-84 on the slider.

Watch Mann double to give OKC the lead

Devin Mann hit a double in the top of the 10th to give OKC the lead. Mann is hitting .258 with an OPS of .827 on the year.

AA Tulsa Drillers

The Drillers outhit Wichita 13-8 but lost the series finale to the Wichita Wind Surge, the AA affiliates of the Twins, 7-4 at Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita Sunday Afternoon.

Watch Lewis hit home run #17

Brandon Lewis hit home run #17 on the year and it was hit 96 off the bat and traveled 383 very happy feet. Lewis has hits in 4 of his last 5 games and has 4 home runs, 4 doubles, and 17 RBIs this month in 16 games.

Watch Zuniga in Action

Guillermo Zuniga threw a scoreless inning for the Drillers. Zuniga had an ERA in July of just 1.50, an average against of .171, and has a team-leading 11 saves.

Watch Pages get 3 hits

Andy Pages had a 3-hit day including his 22nd double of the season. This was his 5th multi-hit game of the month and the 9th game in August where he’s had at least 1 extra-base hit.

Watch Reed get 2 hits

Buddy Reed had 2 hits for the Drillers and has hits in 6 of his last 7 games and is hitting .294 so far in August.

 

Watch Taylor hit home run #4

Catcher for the Drillers, Carson Taylor had a hit both right-handed and left-handed and also hit his 4th home run of the year and it was a shot. It came off the bat at 105 and traveled 427 very happy feet.

Watch Valera get 2 hits

Leonel Valera had 2 more hits yesterday which makes his 7th multi-hit game of the month and he is hitting .324 with an OPS of 1.084. He’s hitting .297 with an OPS of .852 since being promoted to AA in early June.

High A Great Lakes

It’s rare that a team can pound out 14 hits and not win the ballgame, but that’s what happened to the Loon’s Sunday afternoon in the Capitol City of Michigan against the Lansing Lugnuts, the High A Affiliates of the A’s.

Watch Vargas get 2 more hits

More from the Machine: Imanol Vargas hit home run #17 and had 2 hits an RBI, and 5 total bases for Great Lakes. Vargas has 3 multi-hit games in a row and 8 multi-hit games just this month, and that’s on top of leading the Midwest League in on-base percentage.

Watch Gauthier get 2 hits

Austin Gauthier had 2 hits, was on base 3 times, scored 2 runs, and had 3 total bases for the Loons. Gauthier is hitting .280 with an On Base % of .455 on the year.

Watch DeJongh get 3 hits

The lightning Bolt, Aldrich DeJongh had 3 hits and was on base 4 times for Great Lakes. DeJongh has hits in 3 of his last 4 games and is 6 for his last 15 with a home run, 3 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and 9 total bases during that stretch.

Watch Rios get 3 hits

Kekai Rios had a big day for the Loons from his catcher’s spot. He had 3 hits and 2 RBIs and is hitting .347 in his last 6 games.

Watch Belge Lay Down the Law

Jeff Belge got himself into a jam, then layed down the law in the Capitol of Michigan. He got the next 3 outs all via strikeouts, & just like in his last outing, he recorded a strike out for every out he recorded. That makes 9 K’s in a row in his last 9 outs recorded. Wow!

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho got in an early 3-run hole and battled back, but 2 run innings in 3 innings in a row for Modesto did the Quakes in as they lost 7-2 to the Nuts, the Low A affiliates of the Mariners in front of 1090 fans at Loan Mart Field.

Bubba Alleyne had 2 hits for Rancho which was his 5th multi-hit game of the month. Alleyne is a 2022 draft pick out of Maryland.

Watch the Quakes Pitchers in Action

Carlos DeLos Santos threw 2 scoreless innings for Rancho, and Kelvin Bautista and Reinaldo DePaula each threw 1 scoreless inning a piece. DePaula still hasn’t given up a run this month, 8 outings in a row, Bautista and Santos have gone scoreless in 3 outings in a row.
