Dodgers Daily: Sunday 8-21-22

Bobby Miller made his debut with OKC, Martin homered again, Tulsa rallied, Sheehan was dealing, Cartaya hits a tape measure and the Quakes rocked the sticks. There was a lot of great action last night Down on the Farm and we’ve got it covered.

AAA OKC

Bobby Miiller made his AAA debut and gave the Dodgers a good start and OKC homered 4 times en route to a 13-5 win Saturday night in Sugarland over the Space Cowboys, the AAA affiliates of the Houston Astros.

Bobby Miller made his AAA Debut last night and went 5.2 innings, struck out 3, walked 1, and gave up 9 hits and 3 earned runs. He hit as high as 100.2. Miller is the Dodger’s #2 prospect and has consistently hit 100 or above with his fastball this year.

Watch Martin hit home run #27

Jason Martin hit home run #27 & it was hit 107.3 mph off the bat & traveled 362 very happy feet. Martin is now tied for the organizational lead in home runs with 27 and is 2nd in the PCL just 1 homer behind Stone Garrett who plays in Reno. He also had 3 hits and 3 RBIs last night and is hitting .290 with an OPS of .968 on the year.

Hunter Feduccia hit home run #13 on the year and it was hit 101.4 mph and traveled 369 very happy feet. He has home runs on back-to-back nights, one to right, and this one to left-center. Feduccia had 2 hits last night and 5 RBIs, and he has hits in 5 games in a row and 7 of his last 8.

Jacob Amaya went back to back with Hunter Feduccia and hit his 12th home run of the year. It was hit 99.8 mph and traveled 366 very happy feet.

Michael Busch joins Mookie Betts, Ryan Ward, and Jason Martin for the organization lead in home runs with home run #27. It was hit 105.9 mph and traveled 380 very happy feet.

Here is every pitch of Victor Gonzalez’s scoreless rehab inning for OKC. This was the first rehab performance for Gonzalez and he threw 3 sliders that sat 85, 15 sinkers that sat 93-95, and 1 change up that was 85.

Watch Rios hit his 2nd Rehab Homer

Edwin Rios hit his 2nd home run during his rehab stint, and it came off the bat at 99.8 and traveled 363 very happy feet. Rios is hitting .277 during his rehab stint with an OPS of .814.

Watch Ochsenbein back in action

It was good to see Aaron Ochsenbein back in action for OKC last night. Ochsenbein has been dealing with nagging injuries & hadn’t pitched since July 2. He threw a scoreless inning striking out 1 & giving up no hits. Hit split-finger, slider fastball mix is very good.

AA Tulsa Drillers

The Drillers got down in an early 6-0 hole, then battled back and took the lead in the top of the 7th, but couldn’t hold on and lost 10-7 to the Wichita Wind Surge, the AA affiliates of the Twins, 10-7 Saturday night at Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita.

Leonel Valera hit home run #13 of the year and it gave Tulsa the lead 7-6 after the Drillers got down 6-0. Valera is hitting .297 with an OPS of .849 since joining the Club at the beginning of June.

Jacob Cantleberry made his AA debut with the Drillers and it was a good one. Cantleberry tossed a scoreless 1 1/3’s innings to mark his 3rd scoreless performance in a row and 6th out of his last 7. His ERA this month is 1.69 and it was 1.23 in July!

High A Great Lakes

The Loons got another great start from Emmet Sheehan and pounded out 14 hits to beat the Lansing Lugnuts, the High A affiliates of the A’s, 12-1 Saturday night in the Michigan State Capitol.

Emmet Sheehan had another great start for Great Lakes. He went 5 innings, struck out 11 walked no one, and gave up just 1 run. His fastball has hit 99 this month, & since the beginning of July, Sheehan has 52 K’s in 41.2 innings & his ERA this month is just 1.13.

Watch this Bomb from Diego Cartaya! It was home run #22 of the year for the Dodger’s #1 prospect & 5th of the month. He is hitting .268 on the year with an OPS of .943! The Dodgers have a historically good record at the top and, also, kept all these prospects.

Luis Diaz had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored for the Loons including his 2nd double. He has hits in 3 games in a row and in those 3 games, he has 4 RBIs, a home run, a double, 5 runs scored, and 9 total bases.

Watch Vivas, Ramos and Vargas have big nights

Jose Ramos, Jorbit Vivas, & Imanol Vargas each had 2 hits for the Loons, and it was the 3rd consecutive 2-hit game for Vivas & 9th multi-hit game of the month. It was Ramos’s 3rd multi-hit game in his last 4 & 3rd double in the last 3 games. Vargas is 6 for his last 11.

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho gave up 2 in the top of the ninth and came up just short in their rally in the bottom of the inning and lost 6-5 to the Modesto Nuts, the Single-A affiliates of the Mariners Saturday night at Loan Mart field in front of 3650 fans.

Chris Campos made his Single-A debut last night and went 1.1 innings, had 2 strikeouts, and gave up 2 hits and a run. Campos was drafted in the 7th round of this year’s draft and marks the 2nd year in a row the Dodgers have taken a pitcher out of St. Mary’s, the other being Michael Hobbs.

Watch Froemke extend his hit streak

Kyle Froemke had 2 hits and an RBI and extended his hit streak to 6 games. During his 6-game hit streak, he is hitting .409 with a home run, a double, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 13 total bases. He’s making a splash!

Nick Biddison extended his hit streak to 9-games last night, and during that streak, he has 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, 8 runs scored, and 22 total bases. Impressive stretch for the 3rd baseman that was drafted in the 4th round out of Virginia Tech this year.
