Kershaw was King, Belli hit a bomb, Betts came up Big, Taylor was terrific and Smith continues to crush. There was a lot of great action in the Dodgers game last night and we’ve got it covered.

LA Dodgers
Clayton Kershaw held down the Rockies, then the Dodgers exploded for 8 in the 4th and cruised to a 10-1 victory over the hapless Rockies in front of 52,025 at beautiful Dodger Stadium.
Clayton Kershaw gave the Dodgers another great start going 6 & giving up no runs on 5 hits & recording 5 strikeouts. Kershaw is 11-3, has an ERA of 2.30, a WHIP of just 0.96, an average against of just .212, and a strikeout to walk ratio of 5.8 to 1. He was 90 on his fastball, 72-73 on his curveball, and 86-87 on his slider which has become his go-to pitch.
Cody Bellinger hit home run #18 and it was hit 98.3 and traveled 377 very happy feet. Let’s hope he can rekindle some 2019 magic again in the playoffs. If you click on his name, you will see an article that compares his 2019 swing to his current swing and breaks down what he has changed and why it has led to struggles.
The Dodgers scored 8 runs in the bottom of 4 which is a season-high. Mookie Betts was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, an RBI, and a run scored. Betts has hits in 4 games in a row and is 7 for his last 16 (.437) and has 4 doubles in his last 3 games.
Chris Taylor had 3 hits, and 2 RBIs, and scored twice for the Dodgers. When Taylor uses the middle of the field he is very good. Taylor has hits in 4 of his last 5 games and is 6 for his last 20 (.300) with a double, 3 RBIs, and 7 total bases during that span.
Freddie Freeman extended his on-base streak to 21 games and has hits in 3 in a row, 4 of his last 5, and 7 of his last 9. He’s hitting .333 in September with an OPS of .974.
Will Smith has hits in 3 games in a row and 9 of his last 10. He is 13 for his last 38 (.342) in his last 9 games and has 2 home runs, 4 RBIs, and 23 total bases during that stretch.
Yency Almonte had the left turn of his slider & right turn of his sinker working again to record another scoreless outing, which is his 14th scoreless performance in a row and 22nd in his last 24 outings. Almonte has not walked a batter in his last 7 outings as well.
David Price has 3 scoreless outings in a row and has an ERA of just 2.48 on the year and a WHIP of just 1.18. He has been way more effective than I think most Dodgers fans realize.
Well, this was the first run the bullpen has given up in the last 24.2 innings, and, guess who gave up the last run for the bullpen? Yep…Hanser Alberto!
