As always, there was some great action over the weekend and we’ve got it covered here on Dodgers Daily.

AAA OKC

Nick Ramirez threw a scoreless inning for AAA OKC on Sunday. He features a sinker, sweeper, change mix, and his sinker hit & sat 86. He threw a very quick Inning, so it didn’t leave a whole lot of data to gather from Sunday & he has just 7 AAA innings, but his ERA with OKC is just 1.80 so far.

Diego Cartaya had 3 hits Sunday for AA Tulsa, including his 2nd Double & 2nd long ball. He’s off to a slow start, no doubt, and that’s after a rough offensive season last year, but he still has plenty of time & the same talent & elite work process he’s always had, so stay tuned.

Click to Watch Choi

Hyun Il Choi got the win for AA Tulsa on Friday! He went 5.1 IP 6 H 2 R 8 Ks 1 BB. Remember, he was the 2021 Dodgers Minor League Pitcher of the Year, missed all off 2022 & most of last year to injury. Signs of a great pitcher are how they handle outings where everything isn’t always perfect. Today, Jared Karros was great on Sunday, but wasn’t as surgical as normal. But, as great ones do, he made BIG pitches to go scoreless and now has 19 scoreless IP in a row. 3 IP 1 H 0 R 4 Ks 3 BB.

Click to Watch Nevin

Kyle Nevin had 3 hits on Sunday & ALL of them were on the Right Side of the field. Staying inside the ball makes adjustments easier & usually leads to consistency. Kyle Nevin has hits in 22 of the 29 games he’s played in, so how about that for consistency.

Gabe Emmett uses late life on all his pitches, but especially his FB, to induce a TON of weak contact. Good outing for him Friday! 4 IP 1 R 4 H 3 Ks Emmett has had 1 outing go sideways, which, this time of year, affects statistics quite a bit, but the other 4 have been great.

Click to Watch Rojas

Carlos Rojas does a great job of staying above and over the ball. Lets him make late swing decisions & hit the ball where its pitched. 2 hits & a couple of RBIs Saturday night for the 21 year old Venezuela native, 2nd multi hit game of the month.

Click to Watch Rojas

Juan Alonso had 2 hits for Rancho on Saturday, an RBI & scored a run. Alonso has a very short & compact, but powerful swing & stays inside the ball very well.

Click to Watch McDaniel in Action

Good outing on Saturday for Lefty Garrett McDaniels for Rancho! 4 IP 6 H 1 R 7 Ks 6 BB Flashed his typical big breaking ball and good fastball & used the top of the zone for swing and miss. Bottom fell out of several pitches & the sweeping action was very good on several as well.

Click to watch Day

Cam Day had good outing for Rancho after he got settled in! 3 IP 1 H 0 R 3 Ks 2 BB FB had great life and consistently beat bats, especially up in the zone. The late life on ALL of his stuff is a separator for him. Makes swing decisions tough and barreling the ball even tougher.
