Griffin Lockwood-Powell had an RBI double to get the Dodgers on the board. GLP is having a good Spring, hitting .267.
Powell led Lincoln High to their first ever State Championship as a Sophomore, then made the semifinals the next year.
GLP got noticed by Central Michigan while attending a camp at Notre Dame, chose to become a Chip, and had a great career at Mount Pleasant. He is the all-time RBI leader in the school’s history, and, as a Sophomore, was the MAC Tournament MVP and led CMU to their first Conference title since 1995.
He hurt his thumb during his senior year, came back late in the season, and didn’t get drafted.
The Dodgers signed him as an Undrafted Free Agent and have done with him as they have done for so many. They’ve developed a plan that has maximized his versatility and overall ability, and because of that, he’s on the doorstep of becoming a Major Leaguer.
Baseball is Awesome!

Giovanny Gallegos had an impressive outing yesterday!
1.1IP 0H 0R 3K 0BB
4th outing for Gallegos of Spring Training, 3rd time he’s gone scoreless. He’s walked just 1 batter and struck out 4.
AAAA-type situations always have a great chance to contribute at some point, so keep your eyes out for him.

Atta Baby Edgardo!
2nd scoreless outing in a row for Edgardo Henriquez, and the outings keep getting better and more efficient.
15 pitches, 9 strikes, no walks, and a strikeout.
Incredibly talented young man who has a huge future!

Hyeseong Kim…Oppo Taco!
Kim let the ball get deep; he was short to the ball and showed a compact swing. And, after it was all thrown into the oven, it baked up a home run. That, IMO, with his speed, is the approach he needs to have every at bat.

Josue DePaula had an opposite-field knock for an RBI that tied the game in the 7th. Interestingly enough, it would have scored Zyhir Hope if Hope had not fallen down rounding 3rd. Interesting because DePaula and Hope are 2 of the hottest outfield prospects in the game right now.
Get used to seeing this; DePaula is line drive-oriented, and he is great at using all fields. He’s advanced in many of those areas for someone his age.

Chris Campos came in drainin’ 3s with his breaking ball! Campos is very good at setting up his off-speed with his sequencing and execution. Once again, he used both sides of the plate, both the top and bottom of the zone, and changed speeds.
His arsenal is very good, missing both bats and barrels. So he can get needed strikeouts but can also provide length by being efficient pitching to weak contact.

Aaron Bracho had the Game Winner! Bracho is a 23-year-old middle infielder from Venezuela, that I probably saw when he was with Lake County in High A, but don’t remember. Then, he didn’t play in the Texas League in AA, so we’re all just getting to see him for the first time.
You can bet the Dodgers Pro Scouts saw him when he played against the Loons in 2021 & 2022 because no organization scouts other teams’ players better than the Dodgers do.
Don’t believe me? Just look at the Dodgers’ Track Record in trades when the return is prospects. Or ask any professional scout or cross checker, and see what they say about that.
Welcome to the Dodgers, Aaron! Great moment!
