Dodgers Daily 8-10-22

May, Miller, and Sheehan all hit 99, Rios and Busch had big nights, Vargas made a web gem, Pages homered, Vivas mashed, the 2022 draft continued to shine, and Yunior Garcia is the hottest hitter on the planet. Although the affiliates went 0-4 on the night, there was a lot of great action down on the farm, and we’ve got all the highlights covered.

OKC Dodgers

Dustin May had to wait through almost an hour of a rain delay to get his 3rd rehab start but eventually went 5 good innings, giving up just 1. Round Rock, the AAA affiliates of the Texas Rangers, however, rode a 6-run 7th inning to an 8-5 victory Tuesday night at Bricktown Ballpark in front of 4610 fans.

Watch Rios collect 3 hits

Edwin Rios had 3 hits for OKC to extend his hit streak to 7 games. He is hitting .300 in the 6 games he has played in August with an OPS of .768.

AA Tulsa Drillers

Bobby Miller was blazing his fastballs last night and threw well, but 3 runs in both the 6th and 3 7th innings propelled Midland, the AA affiliates of the A’s, to victory 7-3 Tuesday night at beautiful OneOK in front of 3582 fans.

Bobby Miller recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in his 6 innings, and he walked no one. He gave up 3 and had the big fastball at 99, but check out the curveball and changeup in the video below.

Watch Pages hit home run #20

Andy Pages hit homerun #20 and the third of the month. He’s hitting .292 so far in August with an OPS of 1.081, so he’s heating up, and when he’s hot, he can carry an entire team for games at a time.

Jose Martinez had another scoreless outing for the Drillers and that makes 6 in a row for him covering 7.1 innings.

High A Great Lakes

OKC gave up 6 in one inning, and just like Tulsa, the Loons gave up 6 runs combined in back-to-back innings and lost 7-1 Tuesday night at Dow Diamond in front of 3037 fans.

Watch Sheehan hit 99

Emmet Sheehan hit 99 with his fastball on the last pitch of his first inning and struck out 9 in his 5.2 innings giving up just 1 run. His average against this year is just .193. So far in August, he has 17 K’s and just 3 walks. Watch out for this kid!

LHP Jacob Cantleberry had another great outing for the Loons going scoreless in his one inning and he has now gone scoreless in 7 of his last 9. His ERA in July was just 1.23, his average against last month was .125 and his average against so far in August is .100.

Watch Vivas have another multi-hit game

Jorbit Vivas had another 2 hit day for the Loons. He has multi-hit games in 2 of his last 3 and 6 of his last 9 games.

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho got out of the gates quick and scored 4 runs in the first 3 innings only to be held scoreless the rest of the way in a 5-4 loss to Lake Elsinore, the Single-A affiliates of the San Diego Padres.

2022 Draft Pick out of Maryland, Chris Alleyne, had another hit for Rancho and is hitting .368 since joining the club.

Watch Fernandez hit home run #7

Yeiner Fernandez hit his 7th home run for the Quakes and is hitting .287 with an OPS of .796 on the year.

 

 

Yunior Garcia had his 4th multi-hit game in a row for the Quakes, and 6th of his last 7. He is 13 for his last 28 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, 9 RBIs, and 24 total bases.

Watch 2022 Draft Pick, Dalton Rushing, double

2022 Draft Pick, C Dalton Rushing had a base hit for the Quakes and is hitting .316 with an OPS of .961 since joining the club.  Rushing is 6 for his last 15 with 3 RBIs and 10 total bases.
