Dodgers Daily: Wednesday 8-24-22

Grove was great, Lewis hit another long ball, Great Lakes topped the Caps and the Quakes won in extra’s. There was a lot of great action down on the farm and we’ve got it covered.

AAA OKC Dodgers

The Dodgers got a great start from Michael Grove and took a lead into the 8th inning, but couldn’t hold on and lost 7-3 Tuesday night in downtown OKC at the Bricktown Ballpark in front of 4481 fans.

Michael Grove turned in another great performance and pitched a career-high 6 innings, struck out six, walked just 1, & gave up just 1 earned run. In August Grove has an ERA of 1.90 in 19.2 innings and has 27 strikeouts to just 2 walks. His fastball sat 94-95. and he paired that with a slider and his big curve ball.

Watch Noda hit home run #20

Ryan Noda hit home run #20 of the year and it came off the bat at 102.1 mph and traveled 420 very happy feet. Noda is hitting .317 with an OPS of 1.025 so far in August.

Watch Rios hit his 3rd home run with OKC

Edwin Rios hit home run #3 with OKC and it was hit 99.2 mph and traveled 365 very happy feet. Rios was taken off the Rehab assignment list and is currently optioned in AAA OKC.

Click the picture to see every pitch of Blake Treinen’s rehab outing with OKC. He allowed 2 runs but they were both unearned and gave up 2 hits. He threw 9 sliders that ranged from 82-84, 7 cutters from 90-94, 2 4 seam fastballs at 95, and 1 sinker at 94.

Justin Bruihl made quick work of his 1 inning for OKC for his 3rd scoreless performance in a row. Bruihl was 87-89 on the cutter and 90 on the sinker.

AA Tulsa Drillers

The Drillers got a big night from Brandon Lewis but could only muster 4 hits and lost to the Arkansas Travelers, the AA affiliates of the Mariners, 6-3, Tuesday night in Little Rock.

Brandon Lewis had 2 hits, including his 14th double, home run #18, and 3 RBIs on the night for the AA Drillers. Lewis has 17 RBIs in the 18 games he’s played so far in August. He can do damage!

High A Great Lakes

Great Lakes exploded for 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back en route to a 13-2 beat down of the Fort Wayne Tin Caps, the High A affiliates of the Padres, at Dow Diamond in front of 2811 fans.

Watch Ramos hit home run #24

Jose Ramos hit home run #24 and it was hit 103 off the bat and traveled 426 very happy feet. Ramos had 2 hits again for the Loons which marks his 4th multi-hit game in the last 6. He is hitting .258 with an OPS of .846 on the year.

Eddys Leonard had a double and his 13th home run for the Loons and has a 7-game hit streak and multi-hit games in 3 of the last 5. In those 5 games, he has 7 RBIs and 15 total bases.

Imanol Vargas had a double, home run #18 on the year 2 RBIs, 6 total bases, and 3 hits for the Loons Tuesday night. Vargas is hitting .333 this month with an OPS of .925, and his on-base % for the year is .430.

Aldry Acosta threw yet another scoreless inning for the Loons which is 9 in a row, and he has still yet to give up a run since coming off the IL on July 14. Acosta has an ERA of just 1.04 in his 17 innings of work this year and is the master at inducing weak contact.

Ismael Alcantara had 2 hits in his first game back with Great Lakes. He is 12/37 (.324) with 3 Home Runs and 6 RBIs since he was promoted to AA Tulsa, then brought back down.

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho scored 2 in the 2nd, 3 in the 6, then 2 in the top of the 10th to win an extra inning thriller last night in Visalia, 8-6 over the Rawhide, the Single A affiliates of the DiamondBacks.

Here is a good look at 20-year-old RHP out of Sonora, Mexico, Joel Ibarra. Ibarra started the game last night and went 2 innings and struck out 3, giving up just 1 hit and 1 run for the Quakes.

Jerming Rosario threw 4 good innings for Rancho striking out 6, and giving up just 1 hit and 1 run. Rosario has 94 strikeouts on the year in 73.1 innings pitched, so his stuff has a lot of swing and miss to it.

2022 Draft Pick, Dalton Rushing, hit home run #6 since he’s joined the Quakes. He is hitting .440 with an OPS of 1.427 since joining the organization.

Kyle Nevin had 2 hits for the Quakes which is his 3rd multi-hit game since joining the Quakes earlier this month.

Watch Rodriguez get 2 hits

19-year-old Outfielder out of Venezuela, Luis Rodriguez, had 2 hits for the Quakes last night, including a big RBI base hit in the 10th. Rodriguez has hits in 3 games in a row and has 8 RBIs this month.

23-year-old out of the DR, Reinaldo DePaula, had another scoreless outing for the Quakes and his ERA is down to 2.59 and his WHIP is down to 1.02 on the year.

Here’s a good look at 23-year-old out of Veracruz Mexico, Yamil Castillo. Castillo threw 1.1 scoreless innings last night for the Quakes and has a 3.90 ERA on the year.
