Well done Ryan Pepiot…Again! 5 Innings scoreless, 3 Ks, just 1 walk, 2 hits. ERA 1.29, 14 Ks, 2 walks in his 3 outings. FB touched 95.1, was in zone 52% & has just 16 & 12 on the movement, so it was riding hard. 31 changeups, avg. exit velocity 85.3. Great outing!

The Dodgers upgraded in the off season in terms of “culture” & “buy in”, which is why this team, while not as talented as some others, is very satisfying. Jason Heyward is the leader of that pack! He hit HR #13 & is hitting .409 in his last 7, .385 in his last 15.

Click to watch the excellence of Freddie Freeman

Freddie Freeman has hit HR #25 & his MLB leading 51st double. The next closest in doubles is Jeimer Candelario at 37. Freeman leads the Dodgers in Avg. (.338), hits (178), OBP (.413) & is 2nd in SLG (.586), OPS (.999) runs scored (111) & is 3rd in HRs (25). Wow!

Next up, the Dodgers are hosting the Atlanta Braves, which is an absolutely huge series for several reasons. One, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Mookie Betts are dueling it out for the NL MVP award this year, and the world is going to get to see them both on the same stage for 4 straight games.

Also, and most importantly, the Braves have a better record than the Dodgers by 4 games, which means, if the season ended today. Atlanta would have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

So, if the Dodgers sweep, which would take one of the most monumental efforts of all time, they could leave this weekend tied for the best record in the MLB, and would have the tie breaker over the Braves. Let’s Go!

AAA OKC

The Dodgers scored in just 1 inning Wednesday night, but that was all they needed, because they hung a 6 spot on the Round Rock Express and won 6-3 in front of 3101 fans at the Beautiful Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Veteran Lefty Robbie Erlin tossed 4 scoreless inning in a good start for AAA OKC. He had 3 Ks, 2 walks and gave up just 2 hits. 2nd scoreless outing in a row for Erlin, 6 innings total.

Click to watch Vargas in action

Miguel Vargas had 2 hits, an RBI and was on base 3 times for AAA OKC. He played 3B again tonight & is hitting .302 with AAA OKC, OPS .892. He is 4 for his last 7!

AA Tulsa

Throughout the course of a long professional season, there are going to be games you’d just as soon forget about and move on from. Last night was one of those games. The AA Drillers racked up just 5 hits and 2 runs, while giving up 12 to the Arkansas Travelers at the beautiful OneOk Field in T-Town in front of 3867 fans.

Beyond that, I’m  moving on.

High A Great Lakes

The Loons were on the opposite end of the Drillers spectrum as they had a night you’d like to never forget. They pounded out 9 hits and 11 runs to down their most heated rival, the Dayton Dragons, 11-1.

Click to watch Karros deal

Welcome to High A Jared Karros. Karros debuted for the Loons & went 5, gave up just 2 runs, had 6 Ks, just 1 walk. Karros is 6’7 & features a FB at 92-94, slider, curve & change. He’s given up just 2 ERs in his last 4 outings (20 innings), 21 Ks in that span.

Click to watch Adolfo

Adolfo Ramirez was scheduled to piggyback off of Jared Karros, but Karros went 5 and Ramirez was only needed for 1. He went scoreless in that 1 inning, 2 Ks, 0 hits.

Click to watch Suarez

Christian Suarez has the most appearances of any Loon, but, yet, is getting stronger as the season goes on. He threw a scoreless inning, struck out 2 & gave up no hits & has gone 6 outings in a row scoreless. His ERA this month is just 1.54. Super Impressive!

Click to watch Tyranski

Mitchell Tyranski threw a scoreless inning for Great Lakes to finish the game up & dropped his ERA to 3.66. Tyranski has gone scoreless in 3 outings in a row & 7 of his last 8.

Click to watch Young send a dagger through the Dragons

Taylor Young hit his 7th HR & stole his 52nd base. He leads the Loons in hits (103), stolen bases (52) & runs scored (72), and is 2nd in OBP (.380). I keep tellin’ ya’, he’s just gettin’ started! Do yourself a favor and click the picture and check out the call from PxP Brad Tunney. Classic!

Click to watch Rushing Homer

Dalton Rushing is on an HR tear! He has an HR in 4 of his last 6 games and had 2 hits tonight. He also has 9 RBIs in his last 6 games.

Single A Rancho Cucamonga

Not a whole lot to report about offensively last night with the Quakes as they got blanked on just 4 hits by the Stockton Ports, the Single A Affiliates of the A’s. Thayron Liranzo, Jake Gelof, Joe Vetrano and Jordan Thompson each had hits. Liranzo was the only Quake to have an extra base hit hitting his 24th double of the season.

Chris Campos started and gave up 4 runs in 4 innings of work, before Liam Doolan, Reinaldo Yean and Garrett McDaniels all  had scoreless relief performances. Doolan, the 6’5 Australian, went 2 innings.

The Quakes dropped to 64-58 on the season and continue their 6 game series with the Ports tonight at 7:05 Pacific.
